SEMH & ASD family support counselling
When your child has SEMH needs or an autism diagnosis, the whole family feels it — school battles, behaviour at home, siblings left behind, and the constant advocacy. With twenty-five years supporting children, parents, and families in education — with deep understanding of SEND needs — I offer counselling for the parents and family members carrying that load.
Does this sound familiar?
- Is your child's SEMH or autism diagnosis affecting the whole family — and you are not sure how to cope?
- Do school battles, EHCPs, exclusions, and phone calls from school leave you feeling judged and alone?
- Are you exhausted from advocating for your child whilst your own needs go completely unmet?
- Do you worry about your other children — or your relationship — whilst everything revolves around one child?
- Do you feel blamed, shamed, or misunderstood by professionals, family, or other parents?
What we can explore
- The emotional impact of parenting a child with SEMH, ASD, or wider SEND needs.
- School stress, exclusions, EHCPs, SEND provision, and feeling unheard by the system.
- Guilt, grief, and the loss of the family life you expected.
- Sibling impact, relationship strain, and family conflict.
- Your own anxiety, burnout, and the need for space that is just for you.
What to expect
This is counselling for parents and family members — a space for you, not your child. I bring deep understanding of SEND needs, SEMH, autism, and education settings from twenty-five years of therapeutic mentoring work. Sessions are warm, affirming, and led by you. Young people from age 10 can also be seen individually, subject to suitability. In person in Wednesbury (WS10) or online. £45 per session.
